When it comes to Realtors, obviously you want someone knowledgeable, honest, service-oriented and trustworthy... but you also want a strategic thinker, someone you feel comfortable with, someone who great chemistry with all the decision makers in the family. This is crucial.

You Have Power of Choice

Relocation companies won't tell you about this, but you can specify your buyer's agent. If you meet a professional and create a rapport with someone you really like and decide you prefer to work with them, you can insist that the relocation company refer your move to this individual. Many of our clients have done this.

Don't lose sight of the fact that the relocation company works for your employer, who wants you, their employee, to be content and productive after a time consuming and stressful move. You can insist on working with someone that you choose. Or you can go with a random company they assign to you. It's up to you.

Negotiate the Best Deal You Can

When you relocate to a new area, getting a good deal is important, especially if won't be residing in that home very long. You do not want to be upside down in your real estate purchase should you have to transfer again.

Buy smart. Choose the right REALTOR who can help identify homes and locations that meet your desires and needs, but also offer the possibility for some appreciation. Your home is an investment. It's important that you choose to work with someone who can be creative and diligent about finding you the best property for your needs at the best possible price.
